At Laser Technology Janssen bv, we go beyond producing components with micron-level accuracy.
That’s why we conduct helium leak tests and pressure drop tests in-house for components where leak tightness is critical.
Our testing procedures are fully reproducible, traceable, and tailored to the customer's specific requirements.
What is a leak test?
A leak test checks whether a component or assembly is gas- or liquid-tight. Pure helium is typically used as a tracer gas.
Using our advanced testing equipment, we can detect even the smallest leaks, down to 1 × 10⁻¹⁰ mbar·l/s.

What is a pressure drop test?
In a pressure drop test, we apply a controlled overpressure (ranging from low pressure of 0.2 bar up to a maximum of 16 bar) to the component and measure how quickly the pressure decreases in millibars.
The lower the pressure drop, the better the tightness of the component. This test is ideal for serial quality control, particularly for sealed enclosures and welded assemblies.
Our testing capabilities:
-
Detection of leaks down to 1·10⁻¹⁰ mbar·l/s.
-
Automated measurement setup for serial production control.
-
Traceable measurement reports for quality assurance.
-
Testing with air, helium, nitrogen, or other media upon request.
-
Testing under various pressure levels or temperature conditions.
These comprehensive tests ensure that each component meets the highest standards of quality and reliability before reaching the customer.
